In this Engineering Geology course at University of Portsmouth you'll learn the advanced skills needed to conduct detailed investigations into surface and subsurface geology, identification of adverse ground conditions, and the design of remedial measures for engineering structures such as tunnels, dams, mines, quarries, offshore platforms and wind farms.
Geological expertise is critical in all types of civil engineering projects – and when you graduate, you'll be able to answer the national and international demand for specialist engineering geologists. Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Lower Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
