VLSI Design Amrita University

Overview

The VLSI Design program from Amrita University is also committed towards training of students in research and in the development of cutting edge technologies. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University is the only academic institution in India to have fabricated chips in IBM 32nm SOI process. This is on par with even some of the leading universities in the US.

Through placement office and also via other means, the program arranges one year internships in reputed companies like Intel, Broadcom, Synopsys, AMD, AMS, Analog Devices, Sankalp, Soctronics, Black Pepper etc. During internships, the stipend for interns is in the range of 28k to 40k. A significant percentage of the internships are converted into full time jobs with an average salary of 7 lacs pa.

Program Educational Objectives 

• PEO1: Attain mastery in applying VLSI concepts to Engineering problems so as to meet the need of the industry, teaching, higher education or research.
• PEO2: Creation of expertise in the microelectronics domain to deal with design, development, analysis, testing and evaluation of the critical aspects of integrated circuits and its core concepts.
• PEO3: To exhibit professional competence and leadership qualities with harmonious blend of ethics leading to an integrated personality development.
