According to a report released recently by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, our country is also one of the largest automotive markets. Automobile exports are growing annually with the support of the policies taken by the government to attract multinational companies to invest in India.
All these set a potential platform for automobile engineering market and jobs in this sector. With the government’s ‘The Automotive Mission Plan’ (AMP) II 2016-26, a plethora of job opportunities in this industry is expected. The sector currently needs educated professionals with innovative ideasin design and manufacturing of such advanced automobiles and machines.

- Amrita Automotive Research and Technology Center (AARTC) established with industry support to provide state of art facilities for students to work on live projects.
- AARTC is the only University laboratory providing comprehensive facilities to the tune of 20 crores in the automotive domain in India.
- The Automotive Engineering program from Amrita University provides an opportunity for the students to pursue internships in automotive/allied companies and organizations such as Mercedes Benz, CVRDE, Volvo, NAL, JCI, BOSCH, Mahindra, Renault, Altair, Greaves-Cotton, Ashok Leyland etc. and European Universities under Indo-European initiative.
