The Master's Degree in Applied Biochemistry at University of Minho aims to form professionals with advanced knowledge in the area of Biochemistry and its applications. Biochemistry is an independent science and today has a vast range of applications, from the health sciences to industry including analytical methods.
This course provides a solid background in core areas of Biochemistry, such as the structure and function of biomolecules and the methods used in their production, characterization and analysis. The students will also acquire knowledge in the most recent scientific advances in areas such as molecular regulation of the cell and techniques used to study it, genetic manipulation, computational modelling and bioinformatics. Allowing students to specialize within an area of Biochemistry offers a better preparation to fit into the job market and/or onto 3rd cycle programs (PhD).
