The Visual Effects for Film and Television program at Seneca College is a Houdini-certified school and all other software taught (Maya, Nuke) is industry standard. You will work on assignments that mirror the practical work you would do at a VFX studio to create a high-quality portfolio.

General requirements
- Ontario university or college degree or college diploma or equivalent in fine art, 2D/3D animation, photography, film/video, architecture or graphic design
- Letter of intent
- Art/image portfolio
- English proficiency for graduate certificates
After you apply, you will receive details of how and when to submit your letter and portfolio.
Your portfolio should include a total of five pieces of work related to visual effects and/or motion graphics. It can consist of 2D or 3D work that you have done in a previous course or on your own, such as:
- 3D models you created, textured, rendered or animated
- Image manipulation using programs such as Photoshop (with ‘before and after’ images)
- Compositing, design or motion graphic work
- Student films or photography (maximum five pieces)
- You can submit your portfolio as images, a demo reel (no longer than two minutes) or as a website.
Applicants are selected for admission based on the strength of their portfolio.
