Overview

The graduate of the Optics, Lasers, and Optical Spectroscopy degree from Comenius University Bratislava has basic theoretical knowledge and experimental experience in related specializations (solid state physics, electronics, vacuum physics, plasma physics, ...) necessary for his focus. He is able to apply his knowledge in the field of optics and lasers in related specializations and to solve interdisciplinary physical problems independently or in a team. The graduate is ready to work with as well as develop advanced software focused on the design of optical systems, experimental control and recording of experimental data from optical and laser diagnostic measurements.

Career opportunities

Due to the partially interdisciplinary nature of the study, the graduate of the second degree of the study programme Optics, Lasers and Optical Spectroscopy has a wide range of applications in various areas of industry at home, in the EU or abroad, in research and development, where new progressive materials and technologies are used, requires accurate laser diagnostics, the ability to use advanced software and electronic devices.

The study of this programme creates preconditions for continuing in the third degree of study in the study programme Quantum Electronics and Optics and Optical Spectroscopy, or in related study programmes.
