Overview
The syllabus of the International Business Management degree at Pablo de Olavide University is geared towards specialisation in the management of companies operating in an international context, with particular emphasis on the internationalisation of businesses, the management of companies with interests in different countries, and the problems posed by international commercial activity.
The ultimate objective is to train managers to know and understand the international business scene and to run companies in a global context.
Key Feature
A research component has been incorporated into the syllabus to cater for students who would like to take their academic interest in the international aspects of corporate business further and either prepare a doctoral thesis or start a career as a researcher in areas associated with international companies.
The Masters Degree participates in the Erasmus + student exchange programme, offering students internships in foreign companies which will give them a practical understanding of the course content.
Some modules of the academic syllabus also feature the collaboration of the Cátedra EXTENDA, an academic initiative by the Andalusian regional foreign trade agency, which arranges seminars on internationalisation conducted by specialist managers.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the Masters Degree in International Business Management will be capable of managing any international business initiative with a high awareness of social and environmental responsibility.
They will also be capacitated to take both strategic and operational decisions on all business-related issues against a background of international competition, and be able to identify the key aspects of company management and the different possible means of achieving pre-established objectives.
More specifically, they will have the knowledge needed to draw up an international marketing plan, manage the internationalization of a company, evaluate the possible business risks associated with such internationalization, be aware of sources of investment and funding potentially available at international level, solve problems of employer-employee conflict in an international context, design global distribution networks and supply chains, etc.
The Masters Degree course is also designed to equip its graduates to continue their training autonomously by assimilating new tendencies in their different areas of knowledge.
As researchers, graduates of the Masters Degree in International Business Management will have developed the skills needed to lead research projects based on international management paradigms and to participate in research projects both in public organisms and in the private sector.
