English Language Requirements

You only need to take one of these language tests:

  • Minimum required score:

    The TOEFL iBT ® measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The test has four sections (reading, listening, speaking, and writing), each with a score range of 0-30, for a total score range of 0-120.

  • Minimum required score:

    The TOEFL®PBT is administered in a paper format and measures your ability to use and understand English in a classroom setting at the college or university level. It accurately measures how well you can listen, read and write in English while performing academic tasks.

  • Minimum required score:

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.   • Minimum required score (Grade C):

    C1 Advanced is a Cambridge English Qualification. It reports on the Cambridge English Scale between 142 and 210. You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and for Use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exam. Universities and colleges may ask you to achieve a specific score, either overall or for a particular skill.

    Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.

Academic Requirements

Applicants are eligible to apply for admission to the programme if they have completed

1. a Bachelor’s degree (3-4 years) in an appropriate field outside Finland or

2. a university level Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in an appropriate field in Finland or

3. a polytechnic level Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field in Finland.

The appropriate fields include e.g. Business Studies or Technology. Please note, however, that the previous degree/studies must include courses in the business studies regardless the major subject in the degree.

Each Master’s programme will provide one 100% tuition fee waiver to the best ranked tuition fee subjected student based on the previous academic merits reviewed during application process.

Each Master’s programme will provide five 50% tuition fee waivers to the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth best ranked tuition fee subjected students based on the previous academic merits reviewed during application process.

Second Year Scholarship - University of Vaasa Global Student Award for Academic Excellenc

Every student completing the expected and required number of credits during the first year gets automatically a 50% tuition fee waiver.
