Program Details
- The objective of the master's degree in Teaching and Acquiring the English Language in Multilingual Contexts (MELACOM) from Jaume I University is to equip society with the tools needed to support the teaching of English and instruction in English that are effective and of high quality so that the learning of English from the early childhood education stage to high school has a satisfactory result and the desired degree of multilingualism (two or three languages) is achieved.
- It is a master's degree coordinated by the Universitat Jaume I in which renowned professors from other American, European and Spanish universities collaborate.
- To access the master's degree it is necessary to be in possession of the accredited B2 level of the CEFR .
- The master's degree is affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FCHS) of the Universitat Jaume I.
Objectives
- The general objectives of the master's degree are summarized below:
- To train in linguistics research applied to the teaching/learning of English as a foreign language
- To deepen the teaching of the English language and in English (CLIL) in an effective and quality way
- Analyze the context of learning and using a foreign language at different levels to achieve the desired degree of bilingualism/trilingualism
- Develop skills in analysis and critical reasoning to develop teaching and research proposals in the field of language acquisition
- Train students to carry out their own research in the classroom (action research) and improve their teaching
