Overview

Submission of a thesis that demonstrates the candidate's capacity of independent advanced research to the satisfaction of the faculty is a requirement of the MSc Actuarial Science (Research). The thesis must be first approved by the Thesis Examiners Committee consisting of at least internal examiner and external examiner.

Upon recommendation to the Senate of the University Teknologi Mara by the faculty and the Institute of Graduate Studies, the Actuarial Science (Research) programme at MARA Technological University is conferred on the candidates who have satisfactorily shown an ability to do independent investigation, completed all requirements as prescribed by the faculty and who have satisfactorily presented the results of the research undertaken.

Bachelor of Science (Hons.) from UiTM in a related and appropriate area of specialization with a minimum CGPA of 2.75; or

Bachelor's degree or its equivalent from other recognized universities approved by UiTM and the Malaysian Government with a minimum CGPA of 2.75; or

Bachelor's degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the UTM Senate; OR

Bachelor's degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75 can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR

Bachelor's degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.
