Program objectivesOn successful completion of the Aviation - Aviation Human Factors specialisation at the University of Southern Queensland, students will be able to:
evaluate the underlying principles and concepts of applied elements in the aviation industry
apply initiative and judgement in planning, problem solving and ethical decision-making in a professional aviation context
synthesise and critically review established theoretical frameworks with supporting evidence to provide solutions to real-world aviation problems
develop and apply the skills required for management of teams, working in teams and working with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds in the aviation environment
select research methodologies appropriate to the aviation context and conduct a range of professional research activities including communication of the results of such research in an ethical manner
formulate and exercise management and leadership skills in practical and training situations within the aviation industry.

General requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
- Completion of an Australian university Bachelor degree in the area of aviation, management and/or psychology, or equivalent
- All students are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements.
For candidates who have a Bachelor degree or equivalent (AQF level 7) from a recognised institution, outside the disciplines stated above, USQ’s Graduate Certificate of Aviation provides an articulation pathway into the Master of Aviation. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they will be eligible for entry into the Master of Aviation provided they meet any other entry requirements.
