The Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) offers a Master of Arts in War Studies and a PhD in War Studies.

To facilitate completion of courses requirements, War Studies courses are also available on Internet.

The PhD in War Studies at the Royal Military College of Canada normally requires five years to complete. Students must register as full-time students for a period of two years to undertake course work and complete comprehensive examinations, followed by three years to research, write, and defend the dissertation.

The PhD in War Studies is awarded to students who successfully complete the programme of study, as discussed in the following sections.
