Overview

This 3-semester postgraduate course teaches cutting-edge specialist knowledge with a strongly international outlook. The programme is supported with outstanding labs (clean rooms). In the area of Microsystems Engineering, the programme offers the possibility to take a doctorate through our cooperative PhD programme with the University of Freiburg.

Smart systems are used in various industrial sectors including the automotive, automation, communications and microsystems technology sectors, as well as in the manufacture of everyday items.

As a graduate of the Smart Systems degree programme at Furtwangen University, you are qualified for specialist functions in various career areas, such as innovation and research & development work in all of the above fields, as well as in related areas in industry and public research institutes, where you can work for example as development engineers, system designers or consultants.

Our doctoral programme which is offered in cooperation with the University of Freiburg, gives you the option of continuing your academic career to gain a PhD.
