The Water and Environmental Studies Institute (WESI) is a well-established multidisciplinary postgraduate institute with an international reputation and high experience for excellence in water and environmental engineering.
The Water and Environmental Engineering program at An-Najah National University was designed by academic leaders in the Water and Environmental Studies Institute at An-Najah National University and benefiting from experts and programs in applied science at regional institutes and universities. The focus of the program is on studying the environmental effects and impacts of current human activities and development on the present and future (in quality and quantity and in time and space) of environmental and natural resources.
The mission of the Water and Environmental Engineering master program is to prepare qualified experts for leadership roles in water and environmental engineering disciplines. The study program concentrates on surface and subsurface hydrology, engineering probability and statistics, aquatic chemistry, water and wastewater treatment, sanitation and public health, water quality lab, advanced hydraulic engineering, hydraulic structures design, sediment transport, water resources management, irrigation and drainage systems, solid waste management, water quality modeling, and environment impact assessment.
The Water and Environmental Engineering master program offered at WESI at ANU is designed to generate qualified engineers with a solid theoretical and applied tools, skills, and understanding of water and environmental engineering to serve the Palestinian community's needs in terms of studying, monitoring, describing, modeling, controlling, and following up all issues and aspects related to the present and future state of water and environment engineering related problems with special emphasis on the Palestinian projects.

In order to be admitted to the Faculty of Graduate Studies:
- A student must have completed a Bachelor's degree with a minimum C “Good” average and passed the placement test and the interview.
- A minimum D average “fair” and the successful completion of a placement test are required for admission to the Family Medicine degree program.
