This Master of Science with a major in Nurse Anesthesia from An-Najah National University prepares registered nurses for specialty practice in administering anesthesia to pediatric, adult, geriatric, emergency, and obstetrical patients whose physical status categories range from healthy individuals to those with multi-system problems.

This Nurse Anesthesia program from An-Najah National University is 2 years. It includes a compulsory anesthesia clinical practicum. The first year curriculum is largely devoted to advanced science courses and core courses.

The clinical component begins during the first semester. During this semester, the courses focus on advanced nurse anesthesia practice, both didactic and clinical, followed by nurse anesthesia residency.

Specialty practice includes assessment and pre-operative evaluative of patients, peri-operative planning, anesthetic monitoring, management and support of vital systems to ensure and maintain physiological norms and to provide optimal conditions for a variety of diagnostic and surgical procedures.

A nurse anesthetist provides, and participates in the provision of, advanced specialized nursing and anesthesia services to patients requiring anesthesia, respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and/or other emergency, life-sustaining services wherever required.

Advanced specialized nursing and anesthesia services incorporate the biological and behavioral sciences into practice as they relate to patients and their families.
