Overview
Clinical Dentistry (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) is a course-work programme at University of Malaya which aims to produce graduates who possess basic knowledge in community oral health with a wider approach towards societal well-being. Graduates will have basic competency in developing appropriate professionals values, attitudes and behaviour that are sensitive and can easily adapt to the changing needs of society.

Clinical programmes are designed to train dentists to be a specialist in the field of their choice. Candidates will be expose to clinical practice through dental specialist training at the Faculty’s specialist clinic as well as clinical posting at recognised and reputable Dental Institutions locally and/or internationally.

Other requirements
General requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree in Dentistry from local and foreign universities and have at least two (2) years post registration clinical experience in dentistry; AND
- Registered with the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) and holds current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) or registered with the dental regulatory body in another country and eligible to be granted a Temporary Practicing Certificate (TPC) by MDC; AND
- Satisfy health and other requirements as required by University of Malaya; AND
- Pass the interview (this is to assess the suitability of candidates under the master clinical program); AND
- Fulfil the requirements for admission as prescribed by the Faculty; AND
- Fulfils English Competency Requirement for Malaysian and non-Malaysian citizens who obtain qualifications from University or Higher Education Institute outside Malaysia
