The Arabic Language and Literature program at Birzeit University aims to have an excellence in teaching literary and linguistic courses and to promote students’ critical thinking in order to turn out outstanding graduates with adequate skills and authentic values to foster the sense of belonging to their community and homeland. Additionally the program aims to consolidate students’ talents to keep up with the latest IT development.

Students should pass successfully remedial courses from Bachelor Program in Arabic Language and Literature no more than 9 credit hours.
Students have to complete successfully 36 credit hours, as follows:18 credit hours of Compulsory courses 12 credit hours of elective courses 6 credit hours for thesis track or seminar track.
