This Georesources And Geoenergy Engineering programme at Politecnico di Torino is renowned for its long tradition of excellence. Placed 15th in QS ranking for Petroleum in 2021, it has always benefited from a very strong link with industry and a broad international network. 


The fundamental knowledge and long-standing professional activities will be complemented by additional competences concerning digitalization, decarbonization, planning, and environmental impact mitigation.

The tracks in Georesources And Geoenergy Engineering programme at Politecnico di Torin will be replaced by two new tracks: Geoenergy and Sustainable Mining.

The program is exclusively and entirely taught in English and hosts students from all over the world, offering an enriching international environment.

Employment opportunities and industrial sectors

Employment opportunities for our postgraduates are mainly:
  • in multinational companies in the energy and mineral resources sector, in the fields of exploration, production and processing of raw materials and energy resources, in energy transition projects (decarbonisation, gas storage, CO2 capture);
  • in service and consultancy companies in the fields of exploration, extraction technologies, plant management and safety, design, management and monitoring of gas storage activities, processing plants, environmental impact assessments of extraction and storage activities, decarbonisation techniques and technologies, and plant upgrading
  • in public and private regulatory and certification bodies, in the field of reserves certification, policy and regulation definition, and in industrial and public bodies and research centres.

  • hold a Bachelor degree awarded by an accredited foreign university obtained after at least 15 years of previous education(primary and secondary plus university).In case you are enrolled in a “single cycle” Laurea magistrale course (5 or 6 years degree program) and you have not yet graduated, you must have completed at least 15 years of previous education (minimum 3 years at University level) having obtained at least 180 ECTS credits or equivalent.
