Overview
The Computer Science Engineering MSc at the University of Pannonia is a four-semester, 120 ECTS graduate program designed to provide advanced theoretical knowledge and high-level engineering skills in computer science and information technology. The program prepares students for complex engineering tasks, research and development activities, and doctoral studies, building on a strong foundation in natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering-oriented computer science.
Core subjects cover numerical analysis, discrete and continuous systems, advanced operations research, digital signal processing, advanced database systems, cloud programming, and artificial intelligence. Students gain a deep understanding of modern computational methods, system modeling, and advanced problem-solving techniques, with a strong focus on the design, development, integration, and optimization of complex IT systems.
The program emphasizes project- and teamwork, allowing students to engage in numerous R&D activities of the faculty in collaboration with top international companies. R&D areas include IT security, medical informatics, systems engineering, lighting technologies, image processing, infocommunication technologies, sensor networks, and control and optimization systems. Practical laboratory work and project laboratories are central to the curriculum, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering and research-oriented problems.
Students can choose from a wide range of elective professional modules to specialize in areas such as robotics and machine vision, Industry 4.0, embedded and smart systems, cloud and information security, GPU programming, intelligent control systems, industrial data management, algorithm theory, or research and development.
An integral part of the program is a six-week (240-hour) professional internship, which can be completed in a dual education framework, and a two-semester thesis project where students independently carry out an engineering or research-oriented project under academic supervision. The full-time program is taught in English, with extensive use of English-language professional literature.
Graduates are qualified for advanced engineering and research-oriented roles in the international IT and technology sector. Typical career paths include software engineer, systems engineer, IT architect, cloud engineer, data engineer, AI or intelligent systems engineer, embedded systems engineer, robotics engineer, and research and development engineer.
The combination of advanced theoretical knowledge, hands-on laboratory practice, project-based learning, and professional internship experience equips graduates with competitive skills for the European and global labor markets. Additionally, the MSc degree provides a strong foundation for pursuing doctoral (PhD) studies in computer science, engineering, or related interdisciplinary fields.
