The Master Degree in Sustainable International Agriculture at University of Göttingen offers a well founded knowledge of bio-physical and socio-economic factors determining agricultural livelihood systems, an understanding of global ecosystems and their relationship with agriculture and social, professional and methodological expertise. Three profiles: International Agribusiness and Rural Development Economics, International Organic Agriculture and Tropical Agriculture and Agroecosystems Sciences.

The Master's programme in Sustainable International Agriculture (SIA) is a consecutive joint Master study programme of the agricultural faculties of the Georg-August-University of Goettingen and the University of Kassel - Witzenhausen comprising 120 ECTS. General requirements

  • At least six semesters in agricultural sciences or a related study field,
  • A high grade point average (equivalent to at least 2.5 German grade system). Your grade will be converted in Göttingen after receipt of complete application file including transcript plus degree certificate.
  • In exceptional cases, a grade point average equivalent to a German 3.0 can be accepted under the condition of an oral exam. 
  • For China, Mongolia and Vietnam: only APS-proven academic transcript and degree certificates are accepted 
  • Alternatively, an academic profile from past study achievements, that proves equivalent knowledge and skills, can allow admission
