The aim of the Shalakya Tantra (Netra Roga Vigyana) program from Amrita University is to produce experts and specialist who can be competent and efficient teachers, physicians, surgeons in the field of ophthalmology.

Special training is given on management of certain eye diseases.

The program prepares to manage many diseases that affect the eye like diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataract.
