Program Details
Graduate students in our department have access to opportunities found nowhere else in the world. We boast an Ethnohistory Field School, Collaboratorium, Digital History and HGIS Lab, and embedded support structures for community engaged research.
The History program at University of Saskatchewan is one of the best in Canada. It features 25 full time faculty, 2 prestigious research chairs, approximately 65 graduate students, and competitive funding packages.
The alumni have a long track record of success in both the public and private sectors. The alumni regularly receive offers for tenure track positions and desirable jobs in archives, government, administration, law, and consulting.

General requirements
- a completed on-line application, the application fee and all supporting application documents.
- a cumulative weighted average of at least a 70% (U of S grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (i.e. 60 credit units)
- a four-year honours degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study
- at least 75% GPA of History courses
