The Management program at Brock University allows students with relevant undergraduate degrees to further focus their studies in a particular functional area of business. This research-oriented program, responds to an increasing demand from industry and government for researchers and consultants from various disciplines of business. The program is also designed to prepare students for graduate studies in business at the doctoral level.
The Management program will provide students with the opportunity to develop an advanced-level conceptual foundation in a chosen field, and allow for the pursuit of highly focused research through a master's level thesis. Specifically, the program focuses on the acquisition of advanced knowledge in an area of specialization, the development of advanced theoretical or practical research skills and to the role of the specialization areas in managerial and organizational contexts. The thesis requires that students demonstrate personal integration of, and original intellectual contribution to, a field of knowledge.
The specialized fields are: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Information Systems and Management and Organization Studies. Please be aware that, although we will endeavour to offer the specialtizations each year, the possibility exists that a specialization may not be offered if there is insufficient student interest.
