About

Mechanical Engineering, offered by the McMaster University,  is an engineering discipline that involves the application of principles of physics for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.

Overview

A M.A.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, offered by McMaster University, provides additional breadth and depth of knowledge, positioning graduates for technical leadership and specialization in industry, or to continue with a Ph.D. degree. M.A.Sc. candidates develop their skills in analysis, creative problem solving, critical thinking, experimental methods and/or analytical models, resourcefulness, responsibility and the ability to present their work to a variety of audiences.

All M.A.Sc. students are supervised by a faculty member from the department. The research areas of the faculty members include: biomechanics; manufacturing; mechanics and design; and thermofluids.

Academic requirements

GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
