About

At the McMaster University we offer a master degree in Health Research Methodology. The program focuses on developing competency and leadership in research methodology that promotes the integration of health relevant disciplinary perspectives to create rigorous and innovative evaluation strategies and frameworks. 

Overview

This is facilitated by an interdisciplinary educational model that draws on faculty from across the faculties of Health Science, Science, and Social Science. The master degree in Health Research Methodology is offered by the McMaster University. 

A research intensive program with the goal of equipping the graduates with research methods skills that enable them to "push the boundaries of knowledge" relevant to improving clinical practice (including medical education research), strengthening health systems and enhancing population health.

GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.

TOEFL admission requirements TOEFL® IBT The TOEFL iBT® is given online through the internet at designated testing site. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The score refers to the total score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading), each subject has a range of 0 - 30.

IELTS admission requirements IELTS The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).

  • Honours Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • B+ (B- for Engineering) minimum average, based on a full year equivalent of final year courses (3rd/4th level) relevant to the program
  • Each program may set additional/higher requirements
  • Degrees and grades from foreign universities are evaluated for their equivalency to McMaster’s
  • Departments or programs may establish additional requirements, such as scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
  • Admission is competitive: meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission
  • The admission decision is not subject to appeal
  • Applicants who do not meet the above mentioned requirements, should consult the Graduate Calendar to determine the requirements for exceptional cases
