Physics provides research-orientated training in highly successful research fields at the Department of Physics in Erlangen.
The high-level program further explores and expands on the main topics and skills developed in the Bachelor’s degree program. The degree program consists of advanced modules and projects, a seminar, advanced lab courses, elective modules, and a research term ending with the Master’s thesis.

General requirements
- To enter the Master’s degree program in Physics, applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Materials Physics, or a closely related study program with a final mark of at least “good” (2.5 according to the German grade system). The B.Sc. must have also covered theoretical aspects of Physics or Materials Physics. Additionally, all applicants have to prove adequate proficiency in English. The required English language level is B2 (vantage/upper intermediate) (CEFR) or an equivalent score in another internationally recognized test.
