Overview

The overall theoretical orientation of this Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy course offered at Edith Cowan University is psychoanalytic and to a lesser extent systemic.

To be accepted into this course, you’ll need a three-year degree from a recognised university, in an area such as social work, psychology, medicine, occupational therapy, nursing, theology or human services.

Preference will be given to applicants with at least two years full-time (or equivalent) experience in a formal counselling role.

The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.
All applicants are required to have a three year degree from a recognised university, and attend an interview. Applicants will be asked to provide a written application and attend an interview if they are short-listed. Preference will be given to applicants with at least two years full-time (or equivalent) experience in a formal counselling role.
