Our MHA graduates are in leading health leadership positions across Canada and the US. But they find success in other areas too—medical school, PhD programs, research groups, non-profit organizations, public policy offices and more.
The breadth of Health Administration program at Dalhousie University sets it apart. You’ll receive comprehensive training and develop diverse skills necessary for managing modern health care systems. You’ll develop partnerships and networks both on- and off-site.
You don’t need professional experience for admission
Many students come straight from undergraduate programs—arts, science, economics and more. Others are professionals from a variety of backgrounds, including medicine, accounting, architecture, nursing, rehabilitation and engineering. If you’d like to develop a healthcare niche and find new job opportunities, the MHA is for you.
As a student of Dalhousie’s MHA program, you’ll develop partnerships and networks both on- and off-site. Interprofessional health education (IPHE) is a unique component of the MHA program as it prepares graduates for the reality of today’s collaborative care team models. Many MHA courses are in the held in the new, state-of-the-art Collaborative Health Education Building (CHEB), a shared space with Health, Dentistry and Medicine.
The program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). Our recent statistics indicate 84% of our students were employed at graduation or within the first three months following graduation (2018-19).
