Grace and Clark Fyfe met when they studied Architecture at The Glasgow School of Art in the 1930s. Clark worked in London and then became the County Architect in Ayrshire until his retirement. Both he and Grace maintained an interest in the GSA throughout their lives.  Grace and Clark willed their entire estate to the Mackintosh School of Architecture to be used for scholarships.

The gallery on the ground floor of the Bourdon Building is named the Grace & Clark Fyfe Gallery in honour of their generosity and the first Grace & Clark Fyfe Scholarships were offered in 2007.
