Description
The School of Architecture, Planning & Landscape, in association with Turley, is pleased to offer two Turley Planning Bursary - In Memory of Stuart Irvine awards for young people from under-represented backgrounds, to study Planning at Newcastle University commencing in September.
Benefits
Students on the scheme will have a £5,000 maintenance bursary paid for Stages 1 & 2, increasing to £7,500 in Stage 3 (and Stage 4 if studying K400 Master of Planning).
For students on the K400 Master of Planning programme there will be no payment during the Certificate in Planning Practice year, but a placement opportunity may be available with Turley.
Eligibility
- To be eligible for one of the bursaries, students should hold an offer to study either BA Hons Urban Planning (K421) or Master of Planning (K400) at Newcastle following the usual UCAS processes.
- Regarded as a home/UK status student for tuition fees and student finance.
Students self-identify as meeting one of the following criteria:
- a. Carer/ Caring Responsibilities;
- b. Care Leaver/ Care Experienced;
- c. Estranged Student;
- d. Refugee/ Asylum Seeker;
- e. Gypsy/ Roma Travelling Community;
- f. Diverse Ethnic Heritage & attended a UK state school throughout schooling;
- g. Students who are eligible for the NU Opportunity Scholarship or Newcastle University Undergraduate Support Bursary.
