Description
The University of Wolverhampton is committed to promoting diversity in engineering, particularly aiming to encourage women to study engineering degree courses and continue on to work in industry. By incentivising female students to join the Department of Engineering, we hope to help balance the gender divide in the UK engineering workforce, where more than 80% of engineers are male.
Benefits
Scholarships are awarded to the recipients by BACS transfer to the sum of £1,000 on commencement of their studies in the Department of Engineering.
Recipients will need to agree in writing to the terms of the scholarship, as well as standard University financial processes, in advance of the BACS transfer being made.
If recipients are found to have breached the terms of the scholarship, in the judgement of the original awarding panel, they may be asked to repay all or part of the scholarship to the University.
Eligibility
We will accept applications for a Women in Engineering Scholarship from:
- Applicants to any Level 3 (Foundation Year) or Level 4 (First Year) course in the Department of Engineering. Details for the academic year are currently being confirmed.
- Applicants who commence their course of study and remain enrolled on their course for the duration of their chosen Degree Programme.
- Applicants who identify as female.
