The John Robert Hamilton Memorial Scholarship is available to give financial support to postgraduate students taking their history Masters degree at the University of Stirling.

Benefits

The annual scholarship of £1,000 is, in the words of the donor Ruth Wright, intended to ‘help to relieve the financial pressures, which make academic life so difficult.’

The John Robert Hamilton Memorial Scholarship is awarded after open competition subject to the following criteria. 

Potential Masters degree recipients must:

have been born in the UK

be a graduate of a Scottish university or the Open University

research an aspect of Scottish History

be a registered student at the University of Stirling
