Description
The Robson Laidler Scholarships support talented students from a widening participation background in the North East of England. Robson Laidler are a team of accountants and business advisors offering tax advice, audits and assurance, generally helping companies make good financial and business decisions.
Benefits
For September, the scholarship will award a select number of Postgraduate students who choose to study on one of the below eligible programmes with £2,000 during the first year of their study only. The money can be used to enhance the overall university learning experience.
Eligibility
To be eligible for The Robson Laidler Scholarships you must:
- Be a UK/Home applicant with 'Home' fee status
- Have a permanent residence in the North East of England. Please click here for eligible counties.
- Have applied to study on one of the below Full-Time one year programmes, commencing September 2026 at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus
- Met the terms and conditions and accepted your offer
- Be a self-funded student - ie; not have fees which are paid in full or in part through a sponsorship arrangement (employer funded)

There is a competitive selection process for this scholarship scheme. Applicants need to apply via online written application; a selection panel will consider all eligible applications. In no more than 3000 characters (500 words); In your future career, describe how you will address society’s needs. What are they (in summary) and how can the knowledge you would gain from your Master’s degree help overcome them. Provide 3 examples - Applications will be considered on the strength of response.
The successful applicants will be notified once the evaluation panel has met, by no later than Friday 18 September 2026.
