The Richard Hart Bursary supports Global Majority students from the Bristol region undertaking selected postgraduate research and professional programmes at UWE Bristol. The bursary aims to widen participation in higher education by providing financial assistance to eligible students.

Description

The Richard Hart Bursary was established in memory of Richard Hart, a Jamaican political activist, lawyer, historian and honorary graduate of UWE Bristol. It is available to Home (UK) students from the Bristol area who identify as Global Majority and are studying selected Master's, PhD or Professional Doctorate programmes.

Recipients are expected to complete a short project related to widening participation in higher education and may be invited to support future students through mentoring or teaching.

£2,000 for one academic year.

Eligibility

  • Must be classed as a Home (UK) student.
  • Must identify as Global Majority.
  • Must be from the Bristol region.

Must be enrolled on one of the eligible programmes:

  • MSc Health Psychology
  • MSc Business and Organisational Psychology
  • MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology
  • MA Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • MSc Psychology (Conversion)
  • Doctor of Counselling Psychology
  • Doctor of Health Psychology
  • PhD.
