Description

The Professor Frank Burnet MBE Bursary for Science Communication is offered by UWE Bristol's Science Communication Unit in memory of Professor Frank Burnet, the Unit's founding director and co-founder of the MSc Science Communication programme.

The bursary part-funds one place on the MSc Science Communication course and is awarded to an applicant who demonstrates strong motivation to study science communication and a commitment to fostering creativity and inclusive practice in the field.

Eligibility

  • Must have applied for the MSc Science Communication at UWE Bristol.
  • Must intend to start the course in September.
  • Must have received, or be in the process of receiving, a conditional or unconditional offer.
  • The bursary may only be used for the MSc Science Communication programme at UWE Bristol.

Applicants must:

Apply for the MSc Science Communication programme.

Submit two written responses:

A reflection (up to 200 words) on a personal or professional experience that inspired them to pursue the MSc.

An explanation (up to 200 words) of how they plan to promote creativity and/or inclusion in the science communication community after completing the course.

Email the responses to the Science Communication Unit by the published deadline.
