Description
They are looking for women with a background in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) who can demonstrate their need for financial support and who wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM.
Benefits
The Scholarship is fully funded and covers:
Tuition fees
Monthly stipend (up to 12 months)
Return economy-class travel
IELTS exam fee (for scholars without a valid test of English)
Visa and Insurance/ NHS surcharge cost
Child allowance (where applicable)
Eligibility
- This scholarship is only available to full-time international students and will only be paid once for each eligible level of study, subject to meeting progression requirements.
- Be in receipt of an offer to study on one of the above programmes by starting in September.
- Have been assessed by Brunel University of London as an international student for tuition fee purposes. Applicants who are unsure of their fee status should note Brunel uses the information you have provided in your application form to assess your fee status against regulations set by the UK government.
To be eligible for a British Council Scholarship for Women in STEM an applicant must:
- Be a woman, as defined under UK legislation.
Be a permanent resident of, and hold a valid passport or recognised international travel document from, one of the eligible countries listed below:
- Bangladesh
- India
- Nepal
- Pakistan, or
- Sri Lanka
and be able to obtain a UK visa using the documentation they hold.
- Have an undergraduate degree that will enable them to gain access onto one of the eligible Brunel MSc courses.
- Attain the level of English required for the chosen postgraduate course.
- Demonstrate case for financial support.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have not had any significant international exposure or previously studied in the UK.
- Be motivated and academically able to follow and benefit from a UK postgraduate taught course.
- Be active in the STEM field with work experience or with a proven interest in the proposed subject area.

Step 2: To be considered for the scholarship applicants must complete a scholarship application form, applicants will be required to explain why they would be a suitable recipient of the Scholarship.
