Description
This scholarship was established in 1988 following donations received from the family, friends, and colleagues of Helen Marchant, a distinguished teacher and researcher in the Department of Social Work.
Benefits
This scholarship will have a maximum value of $6,000.
Eligibility
You must:
- be enrolled in a full-time master's by research or PhD in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work
- be willing to undertake research in the field of social work and/or social policy in at least one of the areas outlined:
- social work and social change,
- gender and social welfare,
- women, work, and technology,
- immigration, or
- social welfare and social work.
- hold an honours degree (first class or second class upper) or a master's degree in a related field with a substantial research component, or equivalent
- have a professional background in social work and/or social policy
- be applying for funding to assist with:
- costs of materials, equipment, or services to support the intended research,
- outside Sydney, interstate or international travel costs to attend conferences, complete data collection or to undertake research, or
- other costs related to the conduct of research.
