Description
The Fergusson Fund was set up in memory of Glen Fergusson, a lifelong Taranaki resident and Chief Photographer at Taranaki Newspapers. The fund supports deserving Taranaki students studying, or about to commence study in journalism, communications or photography.
Benefits
One $10,000 scholarship, which also includes a work placement with the Taranaki Daily News, and one $5,000 scholarship.
Eligibility
- To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled or planning to enrol in a full-time journalism, photography, or media-related course.
- The scholarship and cadetship are valid for one academic year and can be held concurrently with other scholarships, awards, or grants not funded by the Taranaki Foundation.

The selection process is managed jointly by the Taranaki Daily News and the Taranaki Foundation.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an informal interview with representatives from Taranaki Foundation and Taranaki Daily News.
While the Foundation is committed to supporting deserving candidates, awards will not be made if no suitable applicants meet the criteria.
