2. Learn where to submit your university application

In Taiwan, the application process is handled by each university individually. Therefore, the official website of your preferred institution is the best place to look for up-to-date information and deadlines.

You can also get in contact with a representative and ask for details or clarifications should you encounter any difficulties.

3. Meet the university entry requirements

While for some study programmes you might have to submit additional certificates or qualifications, these are, in general, the most common entry requirements:

  • completed application form
  • proof of paying the application fee (if applicable)
  • high school diploma (to apply for a Bachelor’s)
  • Bachelor’s diploma (to apply for a Master’s)
  • transcript of records
  • passport-sized photo(s)
  • copy of valid passport and/or personal ID
  • motivation letter

Keep in mind that you need to translate these documents either in English or Chinese based on the university’s demands.

4. Find out about the language requirements

You can only enrol in English-taught courses after proving your English language proficiency. Most universities in Taiwan accept at least one of these tests:

You don’t need to know Chinese for English-taught study programmes; but if you want to learn the basics, local universities organise language or preparatory courses.
