1971, the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück was founded. But their roots go back many decades. A look at history shows how today's university has grown in and with the Osnabrück-Lingen region. Architecturally, this can also be impressively understood at the individual locations.

With around 100 degree programs, the Bachelor's, Master's and advanced training levels is truly comprehensive. Our university has been a pioneer in many areas of academic training – in the establishment of new degree programs, for example – and has thus earned the reputation of being an innovative and progressive institution of higher education.

The research focuses illustrated here contribute significantly to the national perception and thus to the profile definition of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. They do not represent the entire research landscape of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences whose research strength is based on the commitment of a number of scientists and scholars in many disciplines. But still. The above-mentioned areas give a deep insight into the research work at the university as an example.

With more than 1,200 employees (as of December 2017), Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest employers in the region. "We are all university": this is one of the guiding principles of the position paper "Project 2023" , which was decided in 2013 as fundamental for the university. Since 2003, the university is a foundation university, which also means that it has a high degree of autonomy in the field of personnel management.
