History
Created in 1973, the University of Aveiro quickly became one of the most dynamic and innovative universities in Portugal. Now a public foundation under private law, it continues to develop and implement its mission to provide undergraduate and postgraduate education, to generate research and promote cooperation with society.
Education
The University of Aveiro offers a wide range of degree programmes in various areas of knowledge which reflect its multidisciplinary and innovative character and are designed to build student competences in scientific and technical areas that meet the emerging needs of business, industry and society.
Research
At national level, the University of Aveiro is one of the foremost institutions in terms of both its teaching and research activities. As a vision, UA aspires to become one of the foremost research organizations in Europe in terms of involvement in European collaborations, and a major player in the construction of the European Research Area.

A Strong Foundation in Business and Management
My Bachelor of Business Administration studies gave me a solid foundation in management and organizational practices. The program combined theoretical concepts with practical assignments, presentations, and group work, which strengthened my analytical and communication skills. Courses related to organizational behavior, business communication, and entrepreneurship helped me understand real business challenges and teamwork dynamics. The academic environment encouraged active participation and independent thinking. Overall, my BBA experience was valuable in shaping my career goals and preparing me for further studies in management and communication.
Caring Aveiro campus
University of Aveiro worries a lot about their student's situations, it is willing to help us if we can't pay our tuition, it prepares various events for their students, such as free movies, lectures, job fairs and even free concerts. One of my favorite parts of the university is the campus, it's unique, when compared to the other universities in Portugal. I would say that my least favorite thing is the lack of attention to the older campus buildings conditions. I am satisfied with my choice and I believe it is what I had expected when I chose it.
Small university close to Porto
It is a very small university with very traditional interaction so if you are looking for that, you are going to love it. It is located in Aveiro which is in central Portugal, you are close to Porto which is also a great city you can visit
