About

History

The Katz MBA program was established in 1960, from a grant by the late Joseph M. Katz, a consummate entrepreneur, businessman, and Pittsburgher. A true inspiration, his goal was to instill an entrepreneurial spirit in each and every student.

Our committed faculty anchors our strong research culture and collaborative atmosphere. Pursuing a wide variety of cutting edge research streams, Katz faculty members frequently publish in top academic journals, serve as journal editors, and command leadership roles in academic organizations.

The timeline for engaging with the Career Management Center will vary depending upon the program in which you are enrolled.The Katz Career Management Center provides Katz students with numerous resources to support their job search.Our Executives in Residence (EIRs) have significant experience in the professional world and are available to offer personalized advising support and career coaching for Katz students. As current or former senior leaders in organizations, they know firsthand what it takes to reach the top ranks in the business world.

Library services

CARNEGIE LIBRARY:

Since its inception in 1985, the library continues to build community, enable learning and provide equal access for residents of all abilities, skills and backgrounds.

ICT services

Tech Row provides students with computer support services, including operating system and software installation, data backup and recovery, PittNet networking assistance, and virus and spyware removal. Technicians can install Parallels and Windows for students with Macintosh computers.

In order to successfully go from the classroom, to the city, to the world, our students must diversify their experiences at Pitt and develop hands-on leadership skills essential to a career in business. Pitt Business student organizations are a good way to do this. Designed to run like small businesses, the organizations put students in control. We count on members to coordinate speaker visits from the corporate community, to arrange site visits to local offices of financial institutions and accounting firms, to sponsor social activities for members, and much more. As a member of a student organization, you will make friends for life and develop skills that enhance your resume for your first job.
