History
In the year 1931 the first higher education establishment of Udmurtia, the Udmurt State Pedagogical Institute (USPI), was founded.In 1971 USPI actually acquired its current name of the Udmurt State University, under initiative of the governmental authorities of Udmurtia.

Student services
International scholars and students of UdSU make significant contributions to campus learning, community diversity, research, cultural experience and global partnerships necessary for advancement through the 21st century. Should you decide on coming to UdSU, we are glad to assure you that you play an important role to creative and cross-cultural exchange and communication that defines the UdSU campus.
Housing services
UdSU international students are provided with the accommodation in two comfortable students` hostels. One of them is the dormitory for international students only, it occupies the first floor of a five stored building and offers comfortable fully furnished double rooms, community kitchen, shower rooms and toilets. There is also a free self service laundry room and a comfortable study room. Another is a new dormitory where international students and Russian students live together.

It is accredited by Ministry of Education and Science of the Udmurt Republic.
