About

History

The University College of Southeast Norway was established on 1 January 2016, when Buskerud and Vestfold University College merged with Telemark University College.

Education

To get accredited university status certain criterias related to education, research, maintenance, organization, infrastructure and facilities needs to be fulfilled

We know that high academic quality is attractive in itself and will enhance our ability to recruit students and good professionals. University status also gives increased self-determination and greater opportunity to develop our own study programmes in line with the needs of society.

Research

We have organised our strongest research environments into research groups and research centres that reflect our commercial profile and practical approach to research.

USN has particularly strong regional ties and a focus on applied research. All our programmes are research-based, and students are involved in research projects from the early stages of their education.

At USN, we conduct research that is closely linked to our academic programmes. Research is often linked to supervised professional training and the needs of business and industry in our region.
