The University College of Southeast Norway was established on 1 January 2016, when Buskerud and Vestfold University College merged with Telemark University College.
TUC has campuses in Bø, Notodden, Porsgrunn and at Rauland, and offers a broad range of academic opportunities at bachelor's, master's and Ph.D-level.

TUC's main ambition is to be granted full university accreditation before 2016. This will add to the wealth of academic and research opportunities in Telemark.
TUC currently offers three PhD programmes; Process-, Energy- and Automation Engineering, Ecology and Culture studies.Research at the TUC is tied closely to our three phd programs.
The research is organized in research groups and research centers. TUC has since 2009 more than fivefold the number of publication points and continue to focus on strengthening our research and development.

The Campus Notodden offers student housing with free wireless internet access. It is also possible to rent a house together with friends, via the private market. You can choose to live close to the campus or close to the city centre, near StuA, bars, cafés, galleries and the movie theatre.
All the library's resources are freely available to staff and students on campus. Students and staff can get access to the library's electronic resources off campus.
