Housing services

The Centro Assistenza Studenti finds accommodation for incoming students prior to their arrival. The importance of making accommodation arrangements before coming to Pavia cannot be stressed enough, as looking for accommodation after arrival may be a very hard and frustrating experience. Because of the large number of students that come and study in Pavia every year, the student accommodation market is a very difficult one. Prices are higher than in other towns, and finding a room just before the start of the academic year is almost impossible, as places have already been taken by students during the summer months. However, some students may prefer to look for accommodation on their own.

Library services

The University has 9 libraries to serve its various faculties. In addition, there are also museums, research centres and the new Pavia Digital Archive (PAD) dedicated to digital records of contemporary authors. In total, there are 130 libraries in the local network, 1,500,000 documents (ranging from books, videos, theses, music and printed maps to electronic documents).

ICT services

The University offers Wireless Internet access around the campus, wherever you find "Wi-Fi Area" signboards.

Medical services

Non-EU citizens are requested to take out private health insurance before leaving their home country and to obtain a consular declaration of its validity for Italy. In order to get the Residence Permit they are in fact required to be in possession of a private Health Insurance for the entire duration of their stay in Italy.
