The university's main building was built in 2002. It has teaching areas, offices and workspaces for teachers, researchers and administrators, as well as an auditorium that seats 700, lecture halls and a theatre.
Södertörn University offers courses and programmes in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Technology, as well as teacher education with an intercultural profile. A number of our courses and programmes are multidisciplinary and are the result of cooperation between different subjects. To ensure that our students develop the expertise demanded by the labour market, new programmes are often developed in partnership with industry representatives.
Research at Södertörn University is characterised by intellectual exploration across subject boundaries. It is carried out in expert, creative and profiled environments. There are currently about 70 research projects being conducted at the university.
Careers and Study Guidance Advisors are linked to different departments, courses and programmes. We offer the students neutral guidance about studying and work-related issues. We focus on the individual and aim to offer the tools to make well-founded decisions.
Student Support Services is a resource for issues relating to student administration for schools, administration, students and prospective students.
Students housing are found in Lappis and Björnkulla. Unfortunately, due to Södertörn University receiving more incoming students than available rooms, we will not be able to offer accommodation to all students. We therefore strongly advise students to check other accommodation possibilities as well.
In the university's library search tool, SöderScholar, you can search through our books, e-books, print- and e-journals and more. You can search in SöderScholar from a majority of the pages on the library website by using the search box towards the top-left of the page. MedieCenter helps with IT-related issues, such as login information for university computers and the wireless network. Students can also borrow equipment if their school/subject has stored it with MedieCenter.
The Student Health Centre is for students who are experiencing study-related health problems during their time at Södertörn University.
