Heilbronn University ranks amongst the major institutions of Higher Education in the state of Baden-Württemberg where it caters for over 6,000 degree-seeking students on three campuses, namely Heilbronn, Künzelsau and Schwäbisch Hall.



Over the last two decades, Heilbronn University has become a regional leader in technology-driven fundamental and applied research and has established its own Institute of Applied Research.

Student services

As the institution responsible for student housing, canteens, cafeterias, and day care centres in Germany, the Student Services play an active role in University life. They further support students in their everyday university life, including study financing and counselling on various aspects of life. The Studierendenwerk Heidelberg is responsible for Heilbronn University.

Library services

The Library at the Heilbronn-Sontheim campus is the largest, holding over 100,000 media units. Its entrance is on the ground floor of the E building.The Künzelsau Library is located on the first floor of the D building. The library in Schwäbisch Hall is also on the first floor. At the campus at the Europaplatz in Heilbronn the library is located in the basement of the W-Bulding.

ICT services

The computing centre of Heilbronn University provides various IT services. To use these IT services, you require a valid user account with the University. The University account is your central account with the University that you keep during your entire study period.

Medical services

Admission to Heilbronn University is only granted if proof of proper health insurance can be provided. Student health insurance is available for approximately 100 EUR per month with a German health insurance company, e.g. AOK.

Campus life

Heilbronn city centre, with its newly designed pedestrian precinct, offers a great opportunity to enjoy leisurely walks and shopping expeditions. A large number of cafés, beer gardens, pubs and excellent restaurants invites visitors and locals to relax and enjoy their culinary delights.

I was at Campus Künzelsau and experienced some very bad organisation! Lessons were re-scheduled all the time, lack of people who would held numeric classes. When I had questions about my application I had to call to several people as at the time they had no study-referent for my field of study and no-one who was supposed to take her place and help me. Hochschule Heilbronn is located in a rather small town, Heilbronn. After four years of studying, I have noticed that the size is just about right. There is enough to do for students, enough going on during the week (although not as much on the weekend), but you are able to feel at home after a while. The university itself is very modern.
