History
Founded in 1969, in Lisbon, it has been a pioneer in teaching Design in Portugal. Currently, it is the institution that trains the most students in this field, with an employability rate of 97 per cent.
In 2012, it gained the status of University Institute, a title which enabled the creation of a modern Doctoral programme in Design, focusing especially on creativity and internationalisation.

Great For learning the basics of Game Programing
The Overall Degree as a heavy hands on aprouch to Learning given that each Semester you have to do and come up with a new game idea and develop it in that semester while also adhering to some guidelines added by the teachers to better help guide you.

Challenges of IADE
The proposed projects were intriguing and attainable with hard work, but the professors and the university as a whole lacked organization. The secretariat provided little to no assistance on most matters, and professors frequently changed dates and deadlines at the last minute.

Housing services
Finding accommodation / housing is one of the biggest concerns students face upon arrival on a new city or foreign country. For this reason, IADE presents you several accommodation partnerships with renowned student residences and apartment booking platforms (shared apartments with other students) or rooms in "family houses".
Campus life
Lisbon is a quite friendly city. We are mainly known for our gastronomy and hospitality, but we have much for to offer for international students.
Live in Lisbon is having the chance to live in a dynamic and young city where the old buildings live in harmony with modernity.
The land of “fado” (traditional singing style) is growing and defining new concepts. Many fields are being developed and we are, definitely, breaking borders to show all the nice things we have in our city, and country.
