History
Founded in 1229, the University earned a great reputation in the 16th century hosting prestigious humanist thinkers such as Rabelais, Michel Servet, Etienne Dolet, Michel de l’Hospital and Montaigne.

Research
Reaching its full development in the 20th century, the Faculty of Humanities is transferred in 1968 from the centre of Toulouse to its current location, the newly-built Mirail district which gave its name to the campus.
Career
The University Career and Information Centre (DOSI) provides career counselling for students. Counsellors help students find information on courses, chose the best major, find internships and develop a career plan based on their interests and abilities. The Centre also helps students develop their alumni, inter-university or professional networks. The DOSI holds CV-writing workshops and various conferences on career and employment year-round.

Housing services
The University halls of residence, run by the CROUS, are dedicated only to French government scholarship holders, foreign scholarship holders or any other authorized body, students enrolled in the framework of an international agreement approved by the Ministry of Education and the PhD students (if there are any vacancies).
Campus life
Our main campus is located in Toulouse, in the Mirail quarter, 15 minutes from the city centre by metro. The University also has several smaller campuses in nine cities of the Midi-Pyrenees region, as well as other campuses around the world.
