Shiv Nadar is the Founder of HCL Group and the Shiv Nadar Foundation. He is also the Chairman Emeritus & Strategic Advisor to the Board of HCLTech, a $13.3 billion global organization with 227,481 professionals operating from 60 countries.
Nadar is credited with being one of the pioneers of the computing and IT industry in India.
It has four Schools, viz., Engineering, Natural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management & Entrepreneurship, and the Academy of Continuing Education.
Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence is a research university, in that, academic research in its broadest meaning including basic and applied research, scholarly publications, and creative expression, are the fundamental building blocks of the academic mission of the University.

The student hostels are state-of-the-art, and gender segregated. They are designed to cater to individual requirements of personal space, while also incorporating a culture of shared living. Each room is designed as a comfortable independent unit with basic in-built utilities. The hostel facilities are spread over 15 buildings across the campus. Wardens are assigned ensure smooth functioning of various facets of hygiene, safety and security and miscellaneous needs of the student community.
The Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence Central Library is the soul of the institution and it is started acquiring, processing, preserving and disseminating information to the user community with the motto of empowering knowledge. It has an extensive collection of books, scientific and technical journals and electronic reference materials for satisfying the academic and research.
We are committed to the overall health and wellbeing of our students. In addition to the health centre oncampus, students are provided medical insurance by The New India Insurance Company Limited. This covers medical issues that require hospitalization beyond the on-campus services.
Shiv Nadar IoE encourages all students to not only excel in academics but also to learn and play sports. The sports programme at Shiv Nadar IoE offers activities in sports, recreation, and fitness, adding a great deal of vitality through recreational and competitive events organized in-house and throughout the northern region of India.
